My name is Aubrey McKinney, and I am a computer engineer and Navy Veteran. During my time in the Navy I served as a Nuclear Electricians Mate, and I got the privilege to work on two different nuclear reactors: The MTS 701 USS La Jolla, and SSN-779 USS New Mexico.
During my time in the Navy, I also worked at Submarine Readiness Squadron 34 as a Command Pay and Personnel Administrator. During this time I earned a Navy & Marine Corp Acheivement medal for leading 19 Administrative personnel in the successful and timely gain of 312 individuals across 23 Naval Commands, and streamlining the adminstrative processing from two weeks to three days.
As a Nuclear Electrican, I was able to learn operation and controls of generators, switchboards, control equipment & electrical equipment associated with reactor plants. As well as perform maintenance on power & lighting circuits, fuse panels, motors, generators, voltage & frequency regulators, as well as distribution switchboards.
Since, Honorably separating from the Navy, I have since attended Old Dominion University to earn my bachelors degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Computer Science. During this time, I have found interests in Discrete-time signal processing, digital systems, electronic circuits, and microcontrollers.
In my free time, I enjoy running, working with computers, and traveling to new places. I also enjoy time with my family! I also like to challenge myself to strive towards new and unknown things. I built this webpage to learn and grow as a programmer, so I hope you enjoy!
